The reviewed Hawaan takeover record followed an integrated system whose source archive dated to 2010. It included lighting, curtains, irrigation, alarm interfaces, distributed AV and projector control. Later support depended on understanding how its processors, Cresnet devices, network and programming worked together.
In 2018, DG documented an unstable processor network path, mixed switching, a failed Cresnet power supply and ageing touch interfaces. Later changes included lighting schedules, doorbell behaviour and a keypad substitution. After power disturbances in 2023, the responsible next step was a staged migration assessment across several affected layers.
Recover the design record
Locate editable source code, graphics, device schedules and previous backups so current operation can be understood and future changes remain supportable.
Test control power and communication
Check Cresnet power, bus condition, terminations, processor communication and the IP network before treating a failed interface as an isolated component.
Separate symptoms by layer
Lighting modules, touch panels, network links, power supplies and programming can produce similar user-facing symptoms and need individual proof.
Choose a documented route
A contained repair, recommissioning, phased migration or Crestron Home replacement should follow the verified condition of the system.
