The important point is not only that cameras can move or switch.

The important point is that camera and microphone placement must be measured against the real room. Not every room needs a full multi-camera design. Some rooms need a strong all-in-one front-of-room solution that can support the native meeting experience and, where appropriate, BYOD behaviour.

The USB peripheral mode discussion is especially important because real boardrooms still have visitors. A company may run Teams internally, but a client may arrive with a laptop and another meeting platform. The room needs a default experience and a fallback experience.
