Final AV commissioning is easier when the room, infrastructure and people are ready. Several small omissions can delay the last stage even when the equipment has arrived.

Common missing details

These include:

  • the table is still in a temporary position
  • network points have no confirmed switch connection
  • cable routes are inaccessible
  • the room has no suitable power
  • source names have not been agreed
  • meeting accounts or room permissions are unavailable
  • staff who need the handover cannot attend

Confirm the dependencies early

The installation team should know which work belongs to AV, IT, electrical, furniture and facilities. That makes it easier to resolve a missing connection before the final visit.

Leave time for real testing

The final test should include normal laptops, meeting content, audio, camera views, source changes and the user workflow. A quick power-up does not cover those conditions.

For boardroom AV installation in Durban and KZN, good preparation protects the commissioning day and gives the client a more useful handover.
