Wi-Fi does not live alone.
A home may have a carefully installed access-point system that works well at handover. Months later, performance changes. Nothing obvious has moved inside the house. The router is still on. The access points are still online. The internet speed still looks fine.
The change may be outside the property.
The radio environment changes
Nearby homes add routers, mesh systems, access points, cameras, extenders and smart devices.
In dense estates and premium coastal developments, the amount of wireless activity can increase over time. A neighbour may install a powerful unmanaged system. A guest cottage may add its own router. A service provider may leave Wi-Fi enabled on a fibre router that was supposed to be bridged or controlled.
All of that affects the environment your Wi-Fi has to operate in.
A channel plan is not permanent
Channel planning is a practical decision based on what exists at the time.
If the surrounding networks change, the old plan may no longer be ideal. Access points may need channel adjustment, transmit-power tuning or a review of how the property is divided between bands.
That does not mean the original design was wrong.
It means the environment changed.
Symptoms can look vague
Interference does not always look like a total failure.
It may appear as slower performance in one area, video calls dropping, phones hanging onto the wrong access point, streaming buffering, camera viewing feeling sluggish or smart-home apps responding inconsistently.
Those symptoms can be blamed on the internet when the real issue is local radio congestion.
Reviews should be evidence-based
The correct response is not guessing.
A technician should check controller data, neighbouring networks, channel usage, signal levels, noise, client behaviour and actual user locations. In some cases the answer is a small tuning change. In others, a wired access point, better placement or removal of unmanaged Wi-Fi equipment is required.
The goal is to make the system stable, not simply stronger.
