The original systems have reached the age where support matters.
Around the time The Pearls was originally developed, Crestron apartment control systems were installed throughout the building by another integration company. Many of those systems are now around fifteen years old. The original company has since moved away from Crestron, while owners are beginning to face ageing touch panels, control equipment and installations that need a practical support path.
DG Technologies is based in Durban North and works actively with Crestron Home. I assembled this package specifically as a clean replacement path for qualifying apartments at The Pearls: current Crestron control, a new touch panel, app access, relay control and the essential installation materials in one defined scope.
It is not a blind equipment swap. I inspect the apartment first, confirm what the existing system controls and establish whether the cabling and electrical interfaces can be reused safely. That inspection protects the owner from a misleading fixed price and protects the finished system from inherited faults.

Control of a compatible geyser circuit, subject to inspection of the existing electrical interface and wiring.
Control interconnections
Cresnet interconnect cable, terminals and the required control-side termination materials.

A custom Wi-Fi/network interface where required to connect the Crestron system to the apartment network.

Why inspection comes first
The apartment must qualify for the special.
Even apartments built at the same time may have been altered, repaired or rewired differently over the years. Before confirming the package, DG Technologies checks:
- The condition and continuity of existing Cresnet and control cabling
- The number and type of loads presently connected to the old system
- Available enclosure space, ventilation, power and service access
- The existing geyser control arrangement and electrical interface
- Apartment Wi-Fi, router access and internet availability
- Any third-party equipment or functions the owner expects to retain
Package conditions
Clear scope before equipment is ordered.
The offer is intended to make a common replacement more predictable without hiding the risks inside an older installation.
- An onsite inspection is required before an apartment qualifies for the package price.
- A 70% deposit is required before equipment is ordered and installation is scheduled.
- Standard Crestron manufacturer warranties apply to the supplied Crestron equipment.
- The package includes up to two hours of custom programming. Additional programming or later changes are quoted separately.
- Damaged, missing, inaccessible or unsuitable existing cabling is not included and will be quoted before replacement work proceeds.
- Working Wi-Fi and internet service are required for app setup, updates and applicable connected features.
- Additional loads, rooms, interfaces, contactors, electrical alterations or third-party integrations outside the listed scope are excluded unless added in writing.
- Patching, painting, cabinetry, ceiling repairs and other building work are excluded unless specifically quoted.
- Equipment is subject to supplier availability. Final compatibility and scope are confirmed after inspection.
- The apartment owner is responsible for arranging building access and any body-corporate or facilities approval required for the work.

Is this Crestron package only for apartments at The Pearls of Umhlanga?
This offer was assembled specifically around the ageing Crestron installations DG Technologies has encountered at The Pearls. Similar upgrades can be designed elsewhere, but the R79,900 package is subject to a qualifying inspection at The Pearls.
Can every old Crestron system at The Pearls be replaced for R79,900?
Not automatically. Existing cabling, connected loads, electrical interfaces and third-party equipment vary between apartments. DG Technologies must inspect the system before confirming that it fits the package scope.
Will the new system work from a phone?
The package includes Crestron Home app integration. A working apartment network and internet connection are required for setup and applicable connected functions.
Does the package include geyser control?
Yes, one compatible geyser integration is included, subject to inspection of the existing control wiring and electrical interface. Additional electrical hardware or remedial work is quoted separately if required.
Who installs and programs the upgrade?
DG Technologies is a Crestron-certified integration company based in Durban North. The system is assessed, installed and programmed by the local DG Technologies team.
