Experience does not only help you solve problems.
It helps you see them earlier.
After many years of AV, CCTV, networking and automation work, certain risks become visible before they become expensive.
That is one of the quiet advantages of a long work history.
Cable access risk
A drawing may show a point.
Experience asks how the cable will actually get there.
Will the conduit be large enough? Will there be draw boxes? Will the route still be accessible after ceilings close? Will cabinetry block the exit? Can the connector pass through the pipe?
Those questions prevent future pain.
Power and heat risk
Equipment needs clean power and airflow.
A rack in the wrong cupboard, an amplifier in a sealed cabinet, a switch without UPS support or a recorder on unstable power can all create future support calls.
Experience spots those risks before the equipment is installed.
Contractor coordination risk
Many problems are caused by good trades working without shared information.
Electricians, builders, cabinet makers, fibre providers, security companies and AV teams may all touch the same areas.
If responsibilities are not clear, cables get cut, boxes disappear, routers are replaced and access panels get hidden.
Experience knows where these collisions happen.
Client-use risk
Some designs look impressive but do not match the client.
Too many controls. Too many zones. A complicated guest-room interface. A camera app with unclear permissions. A system that depends on one person’s phone. A lighting scene the family never uses.
Experience asks how the home will actually be lived in.
Documentation risk
Missing documentation is quiet at handover and expensive later.
The risk is not obvious until a router changes, a source fails, a camera needs replacing or another technician has to understand the system.
Experience treats documentation as protection.
DG Technologies uses history to reduce surprises
DG Technologies’ work history across private homes, commercial sites, CCTV, Crestron, audio, Wi-Fi and support helps us see common risks early.
That does not make every project easy.
It makes the advice more grounded.
The best time to solve a risk is before the client pays for it twice.
